Turn To Stone, Lose My Faith
2026
Turn To Stone, Lose My Faith presents a church bell resting at an angle on a steel pedestal within the former convent grounds of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. Removed from its customary position and rendered silent, the bell is encountered at bodily scale rather than overhead, foregrounding its weight, material presence, and historical associations. Neither fully fallen nor fully installed, the work traces the layered histories embedded within the site and the changing roles of the institutions that have shaped it.
